PCP Advisory Committee

The purpose of the PCP Advisory Committee is to bring together the leadership of the internal medicine, family practice and pediatric groups to collaborate on achieving our value goals of high quality, cost-effective careĀ  in a clinically integrated environment. As currently configured, each of the 22 Pods within BIDPO sends one Pod leader to the monthly PCP Advisory Committee meeting.

Current Committee Members

The work of this committee includes the following:
  • Reviewing quality measures and our performance against those measures. Establishing targeted action plans to improve quality and comparing best practices required to achieve our goals.
  • Analyzing cost of care and identifying practice patterns and behavior changes that will improve cost and enhance quality.
  • Understanding our current managed care contracts and discussing changes in practice workflow required to achieve contracting requirements and goals.
  • Bringing in guest speakers who may educate and inform us on some important aspects of clinical services, access to same and best clinical practices.
  • Understanding, analyzing and improving relationships between primary care and specialist providers and establishing programs to improve communications and coordination of care.
  • Hearing about and advising on new initiatives such as Care Transition programs, High Risk Care Management, PatientSite, Quality Registry, achieving Meaningful Use and other medical management resources.
  • Having a forum for the Case Managers and Pharmacists to interact with the PCP leadership.
  • Reviewing contract related quality initiatives and engaging physicians to achieve higher levels of quality.
  • Advising BIDPO Board and Management on issues of concern and importance to primary care providers.
